Functionality
MGW 2000 transmits multiple channels of live TV and video over IP networks.
It can receive up to six live analog signals, encode them in real- time to
MPEG- 1 or MPEG- 2 and then stream them over an IP network in multicast or
unicast mode. MGW 2000 also supports near on- demand transmission of 10
pre- recorded streams, including MP3 files. With MGW 2000, operators and
organizations can utilize their DSL, fiber and Ethernet LANs for IP- based
TV broadcasts.
Web-Based Remote Management
MGW 2000's remote management system enables the configuration, operation
and monitoring of multiple streams via a Web- based management application.
Alternatively, system integrators can develop customized front- ends using
MGW 2000 ActiveX controls and DirectShow development tools.
Scheduling and Low Latency Capabilities
A scheduling interface allows MGW 2000 operators to plan programming,
encoding and transmission sessions ahead of time. Additional features such
as low latency, Diffserv QoS support and closed caption support, ensure
that TV over IP transmissions powered by MGW 2000, meet the stringent
requirements of live broadcasting applications.
Parliament houses and corporations:
Several parliament houses are using the MGW 2000 to stream multiple
channels of live debates, committee proceedings and news over an IP
network to the desktops of hundreds of representatives and staffers. Other
major corporations are using MGW 2000 to stream the monthly proceedings of
board meetings over corporate intranets to company executives.
Intelligence and law enforcement:
Major law enforcement agencies are using MGW 2000 platforms in border
surveillance systems, allowing them to detect, identify, track and
intercept illegal vessels infiltrating territorial waters. MGW 2000 is
also proving an important solution for intelligence agencies, which use it
for open intelligence gathering to monitor foreign TV broadcasts in real-
time. MGW 2000 receives multiple TV signals, encodes them to MPEG- 1 and
MPEG- 2, and then streams them over an IP network to agents, who can
monitor and collate the content at their desktops. The signals are also
transferred to a video server where they are archived for later
intelligence analysis.
