This is the CARTONI for the new generation of DV and light-weight ENG Professional Video Cameras. The ALFA provides for fast dynamic counterbalance of cameras loads up to 8 Kg (17 lbs). For heavier cameras weighing up to 10 Kg (22 lbs) an upgraded version, ALFA II, is also available.
On both versions, ALFA and ALFA II, the camera weight is counterbalanced by a double spring group which can be disingaged while shooting with ultra-light equipment by simply flipping a lever.
The quick release sliding plate allows the camera to be perfectly balanced and easily mounted.
The Alfa "Dual Drag" system combines the patented CARTONI labyrinth module with an advanced lubricated friction drag mechanism providing the widest range of infinitely variable precise settings.
 
On the pan mode the on/off selector allows the fluid system and the lubricated firction to be activated separately or simultaneously, while on the tilt mode the fluid module and lubricated friction operate at the same time ensuring different drag levels to be achieved by simply turning the relevant knob.
The ALFA series comes equipped with a 100mm ball base, telescopic handle and spirit level.
A three tube flip-clamping aluminium or carbon fiber single-stage tripod with off-ground spreader and flat-pivoting rubber feet provides for outstanding lightness and stability allowing the system to be easily carried and rapidly deployed into
action.
